The Community Access Program (CAP) was developed by Industry Canada to help communities in Canada's rural and remote settings obtain affordable public access to the Internet and the skills to use it effectively. Access to the Information Highway will help create new and exciting opportunities for growth and jobs by providing these communities with the ability to communicate with each other, conduct business, and enhance job skills and exchange information and ideas.
We have 3 CAP
sites located at
our three libraries:
Flesherton,
Kimberley,
and Markdale.
Our goal is to provide
affordable public
access to the internet
as well as the skills
to use it effectively,
and to serve as
a resource centre
for information,
education, recreation
and culture. In
doing so, we hope
to allow our community
to take advantage
of new communication
technologies, and
encourage economic
and social growth.
The computers are
available for
members of the
public to use.
Free internet lessons will be available in
the fall of 2007at all three branches! Sign up
at the front desk or call for further
information.
