"Friends of the Library" is a group of private citizens who volunteer their time to support the activities and objectives of their public library.

The Kimberley "Friends of the Library" was very active pre-amalgamation (which took place in January 2001). It was the Friends group that kept the Kimberley Library in existence, by fundraising and volunteering extensively.

Recently, the Friends group was subsumed into the Kimberley Community Association, another community-based group that takes on various projects for beautifying the village and creating cameraderie.

However, as of January 2005, there is movement towards a reconstitution of the Kimberley Friends of the Library group, separate from the Community Association.

If you would be interested in getting involved with the new Friends group in Kimberley, please call Norma at the library: 599-6990
