Tech Help


We provide technology help to patrons and visitors in person, by telephone, or through Microsoft Teams (an online platform). If we’re unable to assist, we’ll do our best to connect you with someone who can. Our “Tech-It-Out Tuesday” drop-in tech support is offered every other Tuesday in Flesherton from 2-4 pm and Markdale from 2-4 pm. Below are the upcoming drop-in dates.


Tech-It-Out Tuesdays

Tuesday, August 29 Tech-It-Out Tuesday: Markdale: 2-4 pm Drop-in, no registration required.
Tuesday, September 5 Tech-It-Out Tuesday: Flesherton: 2-4 pm Drop-in, no registration required.
Tuesday, September 12 Tech-It-Out Tuesday: Markdale: 2-4 pm Drop-in, no registration required.
Tuesday, September 19 Tech-It-Out Tuesday: Flesherton: 2-4 pm Drop-in, no registration required.

We assist with:

Email
Using the Library’s digital resources such as Libby, Ancestry, LinkedIn Learning
General tablet, phone, or eReader troubleshooting
Basic computer and Internet skills
Online meetings
Searching the Library’s catalogue (Koha), placing holds, and recommending titles
Completing tasks in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other computer software

We do not assist with:

✘ Computer repairs or upgrades
✘ Virus or Malware removal
✘ Installations or updating of operating systems
✘ Software installations
✘ Removal or deletion of data or information
✘ Accessing others’ accounts
✘ Storage of passwords
✘ Technology support to users at home (e.g. we do not offer a visiting service)
